Willis United Church, North Lunenburg, Ontario

This church has been torn down and I understand that the lumber from the old church was used to make cabins at a Scout camp.

Waterdown Cemetery located near Lunenburg, Ontario.  You will notice a lot of the stones have fallen over due to age and the condition of the ground.  This past August 2002 at the Poaps family reunion it really made me sad to see the condition of the gravestones of our relatives.  The following pictures are also from the Waterdown Cemetery.

As you can see with the picture above some grave stones that had fallen over and were dumped behind the fence.

This is the new stone for Jacob John Poaps who was Reeve at Osnabruck Center.  See old stone at the top of the page I managed to see it in 1979.  A year later it had fallen.

These 2 pictures below are the headstone of John F. Poapst and his family.  The stone was moved from the Poapst homestad to Willis United Cemetery by Garret Poapst (deceased) .
