Currently I am a "Domestic Engineer" having just completed a successful move to Lee's Summitt Ha! When I left Central in 1959, I was filled with an excitement for life, a lot of courage and world of hope for a wounderfull life. I still live at 2000 W. 120th Ter., Leawood, KS 66209. I have two married children. My husband, Earl, is retired and does contract work. I have been an elementary school secretary for the last twenty years at Leawood Elementary School. I went to the University of Missouri. I guess I should brag about my children while I'm at it. My daughter Stephanie (age 34) and son Chris (age 32) are talented performers who sing and play (Chris on guitar) at various venues around the Kansas City area. I do a lot of singing. My husband and I sing with a chorus out of Rockhurst University called Musica Sacra and I have been singing with a madrigal group for the last ten years. We perform at the K.C. Two days after graduation, I took a file clerk position at the American Academy of Family Physicians, a national organization of family doctors. I thought I would work two years, marry , have a large family, etc. you know like those "Golden" storybooks! I wound up being at the AAFP a total of 23 years and when I left the organization I was director of the Membership Division. In 1986 I moved to Michigan and became the CEO of the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians, a state chapter of the national organization. I have one offspring, Frank E. Countryman, who is a36y and works for Kaiser Permanete in Los Angeles during the day plays some local clubs. He is a musician at heart, but like most musicians, he knows he can't make a living doing just that, unless you hit it big. Although never aspiring to be a "career" person, it's exactly what am. I have had some wonderfull experiences over the years through my jobs. Even though it's now what I envisioned for myself, I've been fortunate. I have been married twice, although my second husband, Jerry Kios, was killed in an auto crash 11 days after we were married in 1978 I have been single since then. Actually Terry attended Central Junior High School (then transferred to Paseo), a year ahead of me, although I didn't know him at that time. In high school my Father was always telling me, "Young lady you're livinging the best years of your life" in many respects he was so right. I look back on my high school days as some of the best in my life, at least in the fact that they were carefree days. I hope life has been kind to my Central High School classmates. We've had wonderiul trips to their beautihal new home.. they are an awesome couple! Tom retired from teaching in 1997 but remains active coaching football with our "infamous" Governor Ventura. Tom also has a passion for fly fishing which takes him all over the country' to find secluded streams. I have had a variety of positions.... ..worked for a big hospital system in St. Paul as a Personnel/Payroll coordinator, owned and operated two businesses and went to work for Mounds View School District. ..first as a Behavior Manager; then as the Secretary to the Principal at Pinewood Elementary. It was at Pinewood that I was exposed to large amounts of mold and eventually became disabled with asthma in 1997. Since that time, Tom, my friend Cathie Anderson and myself have started another business.. Tom is CEO (he keeps us on the straight and narrow) The business is called FRIENDS INDEED and we design cross stitch patterns which are sold in needlework shops. So here it goes: Bill and I were married for 25 years, he became a Kansas City Missouri Police Officer, we drifted apart and being a police officers wife is not an ideal lifestyle. We got a divorce in 1983, however we did have three wonderful children, my oldest daughter Denise is 43, second daughter Tracy is 42 and my son Chris is 32. I have four grandchildren 20, 19, 18 and 2. I remarried in 1987 to David Stillwell, who is a Metro Bus Driver. We have been married for 17 years. We have travel all around the United States on a Honda Goldwing (motorcycle) which has been lots of fun, yes I even have been the big Harley gathering at Sturgis. We sold our Harley Davidson this past year so I think our motorcycle days are over. My husband and I are really into racing, Winston Cup, Sprint Cars and Motorcycles and we try to go as often as we can. I work at US Bank, as an administrator assistant, been here for 22 years, and before that I was in the stock brokerage business for 15 years. We live in Raytown, Missouri and have for three years. He died and I moved to Florida where I was a Purchasing Manger for Community Mental Health Hospital for 15 years. I then returned to Missouri to help out with a dear friend who's husband had died and just stayed. In 1990 I met and married my present and 3rd husband Maurice Simpson. Together we have 8 children, 19 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. In 1994 I became disabled due to a stroke which took my vision and caused some left side paralysis. I adapted after a year, learned Braille and now have a talking interactive descriptive computer which I'm enjoying. Through this medium I keep in contact with new and old friends worldwide and have several support communities as well. Been through a lot of stress with the TWA problems; such as strikes, furloughs and transfer to St. Louis. I graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln Teachers College in 1963 and then worked as a reporter for the Lincoln Evening Journal for 2 years. I married Steve Honey in 1963. We moved to the Washington, D.C. Metro area in 1965. Steve taught in public schools, secondary level, for 32 years - he's now retired I worked on a California Congressman's staff for 7 years. After birth of first daughter I worked as a church secretary. After 2nd daughter was born to our family we moved to Manassas, VA in 1977. I began work in hospital administration and continue in that work today. (2000) I spend "free time" in support activities for the schools and also as a church officer. Currently I enjoy playing in a Handbell Choir, pleasure reading and visiting our married daughters; one living in North Carolina, the other in Kansas. We're all fans of Nebraska football and attend games when and wherever possible.
