JOSEPH ENGLISH, seventh child of James and Elizabeth English, was born in 1800 in English's Ferry, New River, Virginia. He married LEANDER __________. He also migrated to Texas in 1824. He settled in Shelby County, Texas, where he had obtained 4,605 acres of land. The certificate card in the General Land Office states this; "In 1835 Joseph was listed as 35 years old, and his wife Leander, age 34. Had two children."
The children of Joseph and Leander English are unknown.
