This was the first Baptist Church.�It was located between 3rd and 4th�Streets on the south side of Winter. They moved to the present church some time in the 1930s.

In July 1893 the First Baptist Church of Humeston was organized and incorporated July 1, 1893 as recorded in Book 1 Box 165 at the office of Wayne Co. Recorder. The members originally met in the Presbyterian building. A new church building was dedicated Dec. 10, 1893 and by Christmas eve it was dedicated debt free.
