McKnight Family of Beaver Dam, Arizona
The McKnight Family
of Beaver Dam, AZ

I am new to the McKnight Family Genealogy so for a while my information will be really incomplete but I will work on getting it completed in the near future. If you have information to add I would be glad to add it.

It seems that the earliest McKnight Family to come to the Beaver Dam area was James Ritche McKnight Family. James and his family moved to Littlefield/Beaver Dam around April 1901 from Minersville, Ut. It appears that in Minersville he had a farm up a canyon but when the dam he had built broke, his farm was washed out. He then moved to AZ.

James Ritchie McKnight was born on February 15, 1858, in Mohave, California, arrived in Minersville, Ut in the spring of 1861, with his parents, James and Sarah Howell McKnight. James married Sarah Ann Zabriskie on November 25, 1880 in the St. George, Ut LDS Temple.

James and Sarah McKnight had 7 children as follows:
1. Sarah Ann McKnight (1881-1960)
2. James LeRoy McKnight (1882-1910)
3. LuLu May McKnight (1884-1971)
4. Samuel Wright McKnight (1886-1956)
5. Nellie Lillian McKnight (1887-1981)
6. William Clark McKnight (1889-1959)
7. Leona McKnight (1900-1970)
From what I have read, all of these children were born in Minersville, Ut.

James and his sons farmed in Beaver Dam and Littlefield for many years. James Ritchie McKnight and his wife are both buried in the Beaver Dam Cemetery in Beaver Dam, AZ. Many of his decendants are still in the area.
