Fern was born at
York, York Co., Pennsylvania, on 18 February 1929. She was the daughter of
Morgan McKinley Dellinger and
Annie Glatfelter. Fern died on 2 July 1946 at
York Hospital, York, York Co., Pennsylvania, at age 17. She was New Tag Obituary from a 4 July 1946 York newspaper:
"Fern Elizabeth Dellinger
Fern Elizabeth Dellinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morgan M. Dellinger, 715 Girard avenue, died of a complication of diseases at 9:50 p.m. yesterday at the York hospital, where she had been a patient for one month. She was 17 years old.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by six brothers: Vincent, Marlyn and Robert, all at home; Harold Dellinger of Hanover; Richard Dellinger 728 East Princess street and Robert Dellinger, who is in the U.S. Army; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Gladfelter, York RD 3, and her paternal grandfather, Harvey Dellinger, Hellam RD 1. She was employed at the F. and D. Cigar company.
Funeral arrangements, in charge of the Etweiler Funeral home, are incomplete."

"DELLINGER - On July 2, 1946, at 9:50 p.m. at the York hospital, Fern Elizabeth Dellinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morgan M. Dellinger, 715 Girard Ave., York aged 17 years, 4 months and 12 days.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral home, 732 E. Market St., York. Interment in Mt. Rose cemetery.
Friends may call at the Etzweiler Funeral home on Friday evening from 7 to 9."

Dellinger, 715 Girard avenue, who died at the York hospital on Tuesday, was held at 2 p.m. today from the Etzweiler funeral home, 732 East Market street. The Rev. William A. Janson officiated. These six brothers of Miss Dellinger served as pallbearers: Vincent, Harold, Richard, Marlyn, Allen and Robert Dellinger. Burial was in Mt. Rose cemetery."
