First Birthday
Grandpa and Grandma Anderson (who, after we moved to Ogden, would be our neighbors at 3905 Fowler Avenue) gave me a shiny silver dollar for my first birthday. I was dazzled.
Couldn’t quite reach my beautiful cake. Good thing, I suppose. Mammy was clever to stick it in the middle of my Tenda, where one would normally expect to find me.

Note the corner of the Price fireplace, which proves we hadn’t yet moved to Ogden by mid-February, 1942.
