Born 1870, daughter of Anthony Bowden and Hannah, and wife of Harry Ratcliffe.
The 8th August 1891 was Grace Bowden's 21st birthday, which was to be celebrated in the café above the confectionery department at the Co-op on Dale Street on Monday evening, 3rd August 1891. CLARA LAW was
manageress of the confectionery department and that evening stayed late at work preparing the food for Grace's party. Later that same evening, Clara was brutally murdered in her place of work whilst Grace's party was in full swing upstairs.
