William Franklin Triebel and Dorothy (Simmons) Triebel
My Grandparents:
William Franklin Triebel
and
Dorothy (Simmons) Triebel
- William Franklin Triebel (1902-1946) and Dorothy (Simmons) Triebel (1902-1987) as children. We believe Dorothy's photo was taken when she was the flower girl in a wedding.
- William Franklin Triebel and Dorothy (Simmons) Triebel. Dorothy's picture is a graduation photo and Franklin's looks as though it might also be a school portrait of some kind (this scan is from a postcard). Dorothy's photo could be her graduation from eighth grade, from high school, or from the normal school in New Paltz where she got her teaching certificate. Personally, I think she looks a bit mature for eighth grade and a little young compared to a couple of other photos I've seen of her that we think are from her normal school years.
- William Franklin Triebel was a member of the Red Hook Fire Company and that is probably what the uniform is for.
- Two portraits of William Franklin Triebel and Dorothy (Simmons) Triebel taken some time in the 1920s. They were married in 1924, but I don't know if these photos are anything to do with the wedding. They resided in Red Hook, Dutchess Co., NY.
- William Franklin Triebel in Florida visiting his parents in Coral Gables, Florida in 1939. There is a similar photo of his father, William Frederick Triebel, taken on the same visit.
- I never knew my grandfather, but I have heard he was a really fun guy. This photo was taken in the 1940s at Prospect Park in Massachusetts.
- William Franklin Triebel and two of his children.
- Triebel monument in the family plot of William Franklin Triebel and Dorothy (Simmons) Triebel. They are buried in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, NY. They have their own markers with names and dates within this plot, but for some reason I did not get photos of those when I last visited.
