Taljhari India - 1920s Missionaries Photographs - Roger Vaughan Personal Collection

19th Century Photographs - List 118

A collection of 1920s photographs taken by a member of the Church Missionary Society in Santal Country, Taljhari, Pathra, Calcutta (one photo), and of the Paharias (Hill People). There are 135 photos pasted on boards as a display with typed labels.
It is not clear who took the photos, but the only person it should be is the Rev. Charles Percy Young who was there between 1917 and 1928, he left in 1929 for Melborne, Australia. He was attached to the Church of the Epiphany, Taljhari and was involved in the boys and girls schools, and the school hostel, with scouts, religous training of the people and recording the events and life around him. Only a few of the photos I have are listed here.

If anyone finds this interesting please let me know.
