1. William1 Ellery was born circa 1643 at England. He married Hannah Vinson, daughter of William Vinson, on 8 Oct 1663 Gloucester, MA. He married Mary Coit, daughter of John Coit and Mary Stevens, on 13 Jun 1676 Gloucester, MA. He died on 9 Dec 1696 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA.
He lived at Ellery's Cove in Gloucester. Register article goes down son John's line. He was Possessed a sloop, Selectman 1689-90, 1692-93. Estate Account No inventory preserved, but settlement includes "rum, wine, sider and Shug and Spis for funnerall 2 pounds 5 s, and or 8 pairs of gloves 16s.  Will on 9 Dec 1696.
Hannah Vinson died on 24 Dec 1675 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA.

4. Benjamin2 Ellery (William1) was born on 6 Sep 1669 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA. He married Abigail Wilkins on 30 Jul 1696. He died on 26 Jul 1746 at Newport, RI, at age 76.
Removed to Rhode Island, grandfather of William, Signer. Will.
Abigail Wilkins was born in 1676 at Boston. She died on 15 Dec 1742 at Newport, RI.

6. Mary2 Ellery (William1) was born on 24 Feb 1675/76 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA. She married Samuel Stevens on 12 Jan 1692/93 Gloucester, MA. She married Edmund Grover on 16 Mar 1758 Gloucester, MA. She died on 1 Jun 1758 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA, at age 82.
Samuel Stevens was born at of Gloucester, MA.

7. Abigail2 Ellery (William1) was born on 20 Mar 1678/79 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA. She married John (Capt.) Prince in 1704. She died on 4 Dec 1744 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA, at age 65.
John (Capt.) Prince was born in 1677. He died in 1767.

8. John2 Ellery (William1) was born on 25 Jun 1681 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA. He married Jane Bonner on 30 Aug 1710 Boston. He died on 20 Jul 1742 at Boston at age 61.
NEHGS Register article goes down this line. He was Mariner in Newport and later merchant in Boston. Will on 11 Dec 1741.
Jane Bonner was born on 2 May 1691. She died in 1739.

9. Nathaniel (Capt.)2 Ellery (William1) was born on 31 Mar 1682/83 at of Gloucester. He married Abigail Norwood on 1 Jan 1710/11 Gloucester, MA. He married Ann Sargent, daughter of William Sargent 2nd and Mary Duncan, on 16 Feb 1720/21 Gloucester, MA. He died on 30 May 1761 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA, at age 78. He was buried at First Church Cemetery, Centenial Ave, Sargent plot.
He was "Shipwright", trade & commerce. He lived on western corner of Hancock and Middle, now the YMCA, moved in 2 pieces, one near the Boulevard and the other half off Gloucester Ave near top of Mansfield Ct., tall pale green house.
Abigail Norwood was born on 30 Jan 1689/90. She died on 1 Apr 1711 at age 21.
There were no children of Nathaniel (Capt.)2 Ellery and Abigail Norwood.

Ann Sargent was born in 1692. She died on 8 Oct 1782 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA. She was buried at First Church Cemetery, Centenial Ave, Sargent plot. Circa 1766 Portrait painted by John Singleton Copley, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

13. William (Capt.)2 Ellery (William1) was born on 17 Mar 1693/94 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA. He married Dorcas Elwell, daughter of Elias Elwell and Dorcas Low, on 22 May 1719 Gloucester, MA. He married Abigail (Mrs.) Allen on 1 Oct 1739 Gloucester, MA. He died on 20 Sep 1771 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA, at age 77. He was buried at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA.
He lived at Grant Circle. In 1740 purchased from James Stevens a tavern, building still (1860) in possession of his descendents.
Dorcas Elwell was born on 16 Sep 1695 at Gloucester, Essex co., MA. She died on 13 Feb 1732/33 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA, at age 37.

He was Judge and Deputy Governor of RI. He was educated in 1722 at Harvard.

Military service Rev. war vet. served in company formed for defense of the town, DAR Patriot. House still standing. He was Prominent merchant, but Rev War destroyed his wharves & warehouses at inner Fort Point. He lived at 1 Western Ave. & Fore St., Gloucester, now an office. Will on 21 Sep 1771.
Rachel Stevens was born in 1731. She died on 1 Jul 1750 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA.

She died on 18 Dec 1828 at Gloucester, Essex Co., MA, at age 68. She was buried on 24 Dec 1828 at Gravestone at Summer St. Cemetery, West Gloucester.
