I looked through this database and found a few Mulhollands.....not quite
the right ages, but the right names....Elizabeth, Andrew, James, Charles,
John, Hugh....1833 to 1835. But Elizabeth shown as 18, and Andrew 23.
There are some unidentified children, ..., but can't quite get past Eliz.
being 18, when she should be 50+. Some of their sections are free, and
even with the ones that have a fee attached, you can get some information.

Hi, thought I'd let you two know I just received a book entitled: Ireland:
1841/1851 Census Abstracts (Northern Ireland). Now I know our trio was gone
by 1841, but I was looking for other Mulhollands. While doing that, it came
back to me that James is Darius over there, and that it may well be a variant
spelling of Mulholland, and I was told it was O'Mulholland over there. I'll
let you know what I find. Lynda

Got my second wind. Might finish this tonight. Another thought: I had
found a Daniel Mulholland m. Elizabeth McDonnell if I recall the names
correctly. Anyhow I checked on Elizabeth....she had a relative Thomas Hair
who was the son of ....Cochrane. Not a bit of reason to think this is our
folks, but it has bugged me. There are Hair and Hare in the Olmsted Co.,
Minnesota area....even found one in the Olmsted History. Anyhow, I note lots
of O'Hare in the book....not connected to Mulholland tho.
Owen Mulholland 72 head not married, Mary Flanagan 70 sister.
I notice several live in America.
Much of the data is from Old Age Pension records and the author notes that
this is not a complete list and also, as noted in the title, only for 1841/1851.
Have to finish tomorrow sometime. Lynda

Here are the books I have so far: (no sense in all of us buying these)
1. "The Surnames of Ireland" by Edward MacLysaght 1978
2. "Burke's Commoners Vols. 1 through 4" by John Burke, Esq. Inside the
title is: "A Genealogical and Heraldic History of The Commoners of Great
Britain and Ireland, enjoying territorial possessions or high official rank,
but uninvested with heritable honours. Originally published in 1834-1838 and
reprinted 1977, 1996, 1998.
3. "Ireland: 1841/1851 Census Abstracts (Northern Ireland) by Josephine
Masterson 1999
I got these books from Barnes and Noble Used and Rare Books section and they
were very pricey, and may not prove to be useful.....the jury is out on that.
I'll keep looking for a book that would cover the 1770 to 1835 time. Hoping
for church records. Lynda
