RALPH JAY MCINTIRE, 88, formerly of RR 4, Towanda, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at the Bradford County Manor, West Burlington. He was born March 19, 1914, in Albany Township, a son of the late John and Bessie Forest McIntire. In earlier years Ralph was employed by the Rynveld Wreath Co. in New Albany, and was later employed by the Ingersoll-Rand Co. in Athens for many years until his retirement. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Heeman McIntire, also of the Bradford County Manor; children and their spouses, Francis and Blanche McIntire of Florida, Joseph and Joanne McIntire of Sayre, Betty McIntire of Camptown, Willard and Lori Burlingame of Elmira, N.Y., Kandis and Francis Rought of Athens RR 1, Ralph Burlingame of Towanda RR 4, Genevieve Urbaniak of Sayre, Elizabeth Seig and by friend Robert of Scott City, Kan., Sandra and Niles Stroud of Towanda RR 2, Walter and Paula Vanderpool of Towanda RR 4; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Vanderpool of Sayre; foster sister, Ellen Scott of New Albany; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas McIntire; and brother, Sam Bristol. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2002 at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, with the Rev. Harry L. Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in the Kellogg Cemetery, Monroe Township. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home

Born Dec. 5, 1922 in Brooklyn, Mich. She was a daughter of Sheridan Lee Heeman and Emma May Shytes Heeman. In early years Dorothy was employed by the Blue Swan in Sayre and by the Herman Rynveld Company in New Albany. Dorothy was a noted seamstress in the area and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Her main interest in life encompassed her home and family. She is survived by; her children and their spouses, Willard and Lori Burlingame of Elmira, N.Y., Kandis and Francis Rought of Athens RR 1, Ralph Burlingame of Towanda RR 4, Genevieve Urbaniak of Sayre, Elizabeth Seig and her friend Robert of Sayre RR 2, Sandra and Niles Stroud of Towanda RR 2 and Walter and Paula Vanderpool of Towanda RR 4. She is also survived by her step-children and their spouses, Francis and Blanche McIntire of Florida, Joseph and Joanne McIntire of Sayre, Betty McIntire of Camptown; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Cora Silverstrim and her husband Eugene of Towanda, Georgetta Stroud and her husband Clifford Stroud of Wysox and Rhea Barner of Millhall; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Jay McIntire on April 10, 2002 and by a step-son, Thomas McIntire. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa.
