Medford, Indiana - Medford, the latest townsite to get on the map in Delaware county, a station on the C. & O. near the western border of Perry township, was platted on September 18, 1901, by Clarissa Phillips. The original plat of Medford shows a part of the southwest quarter of section 6 of township 19, range 11, and covers a tract of seventeen lots along the railway, with Washington and Main streets crossed by Walnut street. Medford is a little more than a mile west of the ancient trading point of New Burlington.

Mt. Pleasant (town), Indiana - Mount Pleasant is another of the old townsites of Delaware county and in its day before the coming of the railroads was a thriving center of trade for a wide neighborhood thereabout. Mount Pleasant (on the maps Mt. Pleasant) was laid out by John Lewis, William Heaton and Samuel Paff in September, 1837, and the original plat shows a tract of seven blocks at the crossing of the highways along the west branch of Prairie creek, in sections 19 and 20 of township 19, range 11 (Perry).
