The last Will and Testament of me Samuel SHEVYN of Ticknall in the County of Derby Mercer as followeth: First I Give Devise Limit & appoint all my Freehold and Copyhold Houses Lands and hereditaments whatsoever within the Kingdom of Great Britain unto my loving wife Catherine dureing (sic) her natural life and from and after her decease I give devise limit and appoint the said Houses Lands and hereditaments unto Ann, Elizabeth and Mary SHEVYN, Daughters of my Brother Robert Orm SHEVYN and unto Samuel, Robert and Mary SMITH, sons and daughter of my Brother in Law John SMITH and their heirs for ever To hold as tenants in common and not as joint Tenants Also my mind and desire is that all my just Debts and funerall (sic) expenses shall be paid and discharged out of my personal Estate and after these paid and discharged then as to the rest and residue thereof I give the life interest proved yearly profits thereof unto my said wife Catherine dureing the term of her natural life and from and after her decease I give and bequeath the same unto them the said Ann SHEVYN Elizabeth SHEVYN Mary SHEVYN Samuel SMITH Robert SMITH and Mary SMITH equally to be divided amongst them share and share alike And I do nominate and appoint my said wife Catherine SHEVYN Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twelfth day of January in the Year of Our Lord 1744 / 5 Signed Sealed Published & Declared by the said Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who subscribed our names as Witness in his presence Signed: Sam SHEVYNWitnesses: Tho FISHER George PEARSTON John KING
