Second Son of James and Eleanor Bolen

September 1829 to September 1902

Alfred Bolen is the second son of James Sr. and Eleanor Bolen, he was born in September of 1829 in Va. He died September 18, 1902, in Paden City, Wetzel Co. WV.

Alfred Bolen, was married at least twice, there may have been a third marriage to a lady by the name of Elizabeth Eddy. (but we have no records on it)

Alfred’s first wife was Sara Baker, we have nothing on her except that they had at least 3 children. They are as follows:

Alfred’s second wife was Elizabeth Brothers, they were married on December 15, 1867 in Tyler Co. WV. Elizabeth was born May 25, 1851, in Belmont Co. Ohio. She died October 2, 1929, in Paden City, Wetzel Co. WV. They had at least 4 children they are as follows:

  1. Henry Bolen, born 1871

  2. Augustus (Gus) Tilden Bolen born July 1873

  3. Leonard Stuart Bolen born August 5, 1881

  4. Phillip Konrad Bolen born February 3, 1884

Henry Bolen was born 1871, married Emma L Rogers, she was born July 6, 1880 and died February 18, 1964. They had at least 8 children, they are as follows:

  1. Harold Russell Bolen born March 30, 1898 died March 1980 in Alta Terra WV

  2. Clyde Bolen, born March 20, 1901, died February 1979 in Danville VA. Clyde married Rene Opal Rood, and they had at least 6 children. They are as follows:

Augustus Tilden Bolen. (known as Gus) was born in July of 1873. He died on May 2, 1905, in Paden City, Wetzel Co. WV.
He married Gloria Victoria Heslep on July 15, 1896.
She was born October 1882 and died June 15, 1905, in Paden City,
Wetzel Co. WV. They had at least 3 children, they are as follows:

Leonard Stuart Bolen. He was born August 5, 1881 in WV. He died May 2, 1958 in New Martinsville, Wetzel Co. WV. He married Nellie Hammon on June 22, 1914 in Oakland, Garrett Co. Maryland. She was born December 22, 1896 in Tyler Co. WV. She died February 28, 1970 in Sistersville, Tyler Co. WV. They had at least 8 children they are as follows:

  1. Louise Elizabeth Bolen born May 1, 1915, in Paden City, Wetzel Co. WV. She died March 13, 1993, in Marietta, Washington Co. OH. She married Audrey Francis Labaire (date unknown). Last known residence was Paden City , Wetzel Co. WV. They had 2 children from what we have discovered. They are:

  2. Orpha Virginia Bolen. All we know about Orpha is that she married Clifton Franklin Jones, he was born January 12,. 1917, and died April 7, 1987 in Mobile. Alabama. They had at least 3 children, they are as follows:

  3. Leonard Ross Bolen born July 30, 1921 In Paden City, Wetzel Co. WV. d November 15, 1955 in Weston, Lewis Co. WV.

  4. Horace Leander Bolen b May 6, 1924 in Paden City, Wetzel Co WV. d March 24, 2001 in Sistersville General Hospital, he is buried in Paden City, Wetzel Co WV.

  5. John Clarence Bolen, born July 14, 1926 in WV, died September 17, 1996 in Orlando, Orange Co. FL. John married Elma Jean Hinderson. She was born July 15, 1931, she died May 9, 1987 in Orlando, Orange Co. FL. We also know that they had at least 3 children, they are as follows:

Phillip Konrad Bolen. He was born February 3, 1884, he died in 1959. He married Gertude Goldie Ellis on January 23, 1907. She was born in 1891 and died February 7, 1961. She is buried at Northview Cemetery in Wetzel Co. WV. They had at least 8 children, they are as follows:

  4. Grace Bolen (all we know about Grace is that she married a man named Ferrebee and they lived in Paden City, WV)
