August the Company took up its battle positions. [O.O.
No. 77 attached] Nos. 3 and 4 sections moved from billets at 2 p.m.
and took up Reserve Positions in FOSSE 11 Maroc. Nos. 1 and 2 Sections
moved into J Battery Positions M6 c 70.75. The move was complete by 10.30
p.m. |

Weather showering. During the attack the guns of 'J' Battery fired
at the rate of 5000 rounds per gun per hour from Zero (4.25 a.m.) to Zero
+ 40 on Barrage targets laid down. Battery then ceased fire and stood to.
During the night 15/16th the battery fired 90,000 rounds on enemys rear
country and in answer to S.O.S. signals. |

Weather showery. During the night 17/18th August Nos. 3 and 4 Sections
relieved the 8 mobile guns of the 4th Cdn M.G. Coy. in the line positions.
[O.O. No. 78 attached] This relief
was great delayed by enemy shelling. No. 4 Section 6th Coy not being able
to complete its relief until dusk evening of the 18th Guns in Battery position
fired 92,000 rounds on selected targets. During relief Ptes E.U. Bishop
and Campbell were killed. |

the line and at work on emplacements improving same. |

to. During night 21/22nd Aug. the battery fired 100,000 rounds on selected
enemy positions. |

During night 23/24th Aug. Two sections A and B of the 15th CMG Coy
relieved two sections - 3 and 4. Mobile guns of the 6th CMG Coy. also the
two mobile sections of the 6th CMG Coy carried up ammunition to emplacements.

of relief 3 and 4 sections moved into rest billets in SAINS-EN-GOHELLE.
Nos. 1 and 2 sections of 6th CMG Coy in J Battery positions fired 50,000
rounds on selected targets in enemy's rear. |
