Clutterbuck, John
      John Clutterbuck

It is thought that John Clutterbuck of Bartley, Hampshire, England was the progenitor of the Clatterbucks of the United States of America. He seems to be the earliest Clutterbuck in the Virginia records. He was endentured to William Freeman on January 29, 1660 to serve four years as a planter. He set sail from the Port of Bristol, England. It appears that he first went to Barbados and whether he served his time there or Virginia is not known.

There are other Clutterbuck's in Barbados in this time period, whether they are related or not is unknown. There is a Mary Clutterbuck in Barbados, who was married to a Thomas Clutterbuck and had a son, John. The record is intriguing.
