PARENTS TO 2ND GREAT GRANDPARENTS

Background:
I inherited a set of genealogy charts begun by my grandfather, Frank Lundberg. This, plus the family listings in Svenskarne i Texas gave the parishes of their births. And, I was fortunate that enough of the first generation Americans were still alive when I started tracing the family. I was able to obtain much information from them. But still, I wish I had asked more questions and done so much earlier.

What is presented below is the result of literally thousands of hours of research which I began in 1976. I grew up hearing Swedish spoken in the home, but literally had to teach myself to read the old Swedish. There is a lot more information in probate and other legal records, but my lack of vocabulary is an obstacle to much further research in these fields - other than identifying that they would be of interest.

1. ME
No, you don't get any information! Well--- I was born in Texas, raised in California and blew into the harbor in Comox, (Vancouver Island) British Columbia, and now live in that area.

8. Salomo Svensson

When newly married lived with his father at Hillarp, In 1871, they moved to a little cottage which belonged to a farm in Uppåkra, then in 1876 they moved to Sibbarp, in 1880 to another cottage at Uppåkra, and in 1883 to Nyholm at Hillarp. When the new church was built in 1892, Salomo became the church officer - took care of the church inside, the church yard and rang the bells.
Hillarp was for generations the family home. It is a large house found on the edge of Vallsjön. It is an old, rather big farm and the first mention of it is in 1567, though it is much older. Sven Isaacsson Lo's daughter Lisa Stina, Salomo's sister, and her husband Claes Ferdinand Svensson took over the farm; they sold it in 1885.
