This Indenture made and entered into this Sixteenth day of October in
the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven between Adam
Clement and Agness his wife of the County of Campbell of the one part
and George Washington Clement
of Pittsylvania County and Alexander
Clement of Campbell County of the other part Witnesseth that the said
Adam Clement and Agness his
wife for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which
they have for their Children before named the said George
Washington Clement and Alexander
Clement and also the sum of five Shillngs Current money to them in
hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge have given granted
bargained sold aliened confirmed and by these presents do give grant bargain
sell alien Confirm and deliver unto the said George
Washington Clement and Alexander
Clement two certain tracts or parcels of land lying and being in the
County of Pittsylvania Containing in the whole one thousand and five acres
be the same more or less (to wit) by patent Issued to Issac
and Adam Clement for three hundred
and twenty five acres bearing date the first day of September Seventeen
hundred and eighty two, and bounded as follows, to wit Begining at a Spanish
oak on Stanton River hence S. 50. W 20 to a red oak S. 43 W 2 po. to a
pine. S 86 W. 42 po to a pine S. 71 W. 40 poles to a pine S 20 W 30 po.
to a white oak S. 30. W 63 po. crossing a branch of the road to pointers
in Clements old line, and thence along Joshua Abstons line N. 84 W 248
po. to a white oak in Clements old patent line, and thence with the same.
S 47. W. 12 po. to a white oak N. 35 W. 26 po. to a red oak. N. 9 E. 82
po. to a pine E. 10 po. to a red oak N. 1. E 60 po to Holloways Corner
pine, on his line N. 10 W 38 po. to a hickory on Sycamore Creek. thence
down said Creek as it meanders to Ralph Smiths Corner on said Creek and
thence on his line N. 35 E 74 po. to a white oak in Clements old line
thence with the same N 33 E 22 po. to a hickory tree on the river aforesaid
opposite the end of persimmon Island and thence down the said river as
it meanders to the begining, and the other tract
by patent also granted to Isaac and Adam Clement for six hund and thirty
acres bearing date the fifteenth day of may in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and eighty four and bounded as followeth, to
wit, Begining at Richard Thurmans corner pine thence his line N 85. E.

Clement and Agnes his wife will forever Warrant and Defend the right
and title of the aforesaid tracts or parcels of land with all the appurtenances
thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining against themselves, theri
heirs or assigns or any person or persons whatsoever Claiming under by
or through them, unto the aforesaid George
Washington Clement and Alexander
Clement their heirs or assigns forever In Witness whereof the said
Adam Clement and Agness his
wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their Seals the day and
year first above Written At a Court of Quarterly Sessions held for Campbell County at the Court
house thereof on Monday the 11th day of November 1811. This Indenture
was proved by the oaths of Anselm Lynch, Adam
Clement Junr. and Benjamin Clement Witnesses thereto and the same
was ordered to be certified to the County Court of Pittsylvania there
to be admitted to Record At a Court held for Pittsylvania County the 19 of November 1811 |
