This Indenture made this 18 Day of July one thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Six Between James Clemons of Pittsylvania County of the one part and Samuel Mosley of the said County of the other part Witnesseth that the said James Clemonds for and in consideration of the Sum of Eighty pounds Current Money of Virginia by him the said Samuel Mosley to him the said James Clemonds in hand paid before the Sealing and Delivering of these Presents the Receipt whereof he the said James Clemonds doth hereby Acknowledge and thereof doth acquit and Discharge him the said Samuel Mosley his heirs Executors Administrators Hath granted Bargained Sold Enfeoffend and Confirmd and by these presents doth Grant Bargain bargain Sell Enfeoffend and Confirmd unto the said Samuel Mosley his heirs & assigns One Hundred Acres of Land be the Same more or less in Pittsylvania County lying on the South Fork of Sandy River and Bounded by Randolph Gipson John Thong and Tho.s Calaways Surveys To have and to hold the said mesagues Plantation and track of Land with the Apurtances thereof unto the Samuel Mosley his heirs and Assigns to the only use and behoof of the said Samuel Mosley his heirs and Assigns forever and the said James Clemons his heirs Executors & Administrators the Said mesagues Plantation and track of Land with the Apurtances hearof unto him the said Samuel Mosley his heirs and Assigns shall will warrant and forever defend by these Presents Agains the Clame and demand of him the said James Clemonds his heirs and Assigns or any other person whatsomeever and the said James Clemonds for himself his heirs and Administrators doth Covenant promis and with the said Samuel Mosley his heirs Executors and Administrators ansd Assigns that the premises and every part thereof are free & Discharged from all maner of inCombrance and that the said Samuel Mosley his heirs and Assignds for and not withstanding any act or thing by him the said James Clemonds or other persons Committed don or Sufred to be don Shall Lawfully may forever hearafter have hold use Occupy Possess and Enjoy the Same and Every part thereof with the Appurtances with the Lawfull Set or molestation or Every part thereof him the sd. James Clemonds or Assigns or any other person Whatsomever Witness Whereof the Parties aforesaid to these presents have Set his hand and Afixed his Seal the day and year above Written

Memorandum that on the Day of the Date of the Within Written Indenture fre and Peaceable possestion of Living of the within mentioned Promises by me had and taken and by me Delivred unto the Within mentioned Sam.l Mosley

This Indenture together with the memorandum of Livery and Seizen hereon Indorsed was Acknowledged by the within Named James Clement to be his Acts and Deed and the Same Was Ordered to be Recorded By the Court
