Apparently James, Stephen, Ophelia, and Eliza Ann Coddington accompanied brothers Martin Luther, Reuben Purdy, and Chester Towner to Michigan in 1830's. The latter stayed on in Michigan, but the former returned and joined their old Church in 1839. The latter were dismissed from the church in 1840. ³⁵⁴¹

The cause of her death was apoplexy.

  Marriage Notes:

Robert took the family to Michigan (ex Tompkins Co. New York Church Records)Montgomery Co MI Marriage Records indicate that a Reuben P. married a Harriet Kilbourn there in 1841, and a Martin S. married Eliza K in 1844. These match two of Robert's sons. The incorrect middle initial is probably a mistake. Evidently the Coddington brothers married the Kilbourn sisters.
