Crowned in 1170 by his father, Henry II, in an attempt to guarantee the succession.
It didn't work.
The son thoughtlessly predeceased his father by six years.

1170/06/14 | Crowned King of England by his father, Henry II, during his father's reign. Though he shared in no way his father's power, he is nevertheless sometimes referred to as Henry III. |

1182-1183 | War with brother Richard (later King Richard I) over Poitou |
