The following obituary notice for Alanson Edgerton appeared in the Lapeer Clarion on Friday, August 3, 1894 (transcript courtesy of Diane Hosler):

“Died Sunday July 29 at his home in Orion, Elanson [sic] Edgerton formerly of this place. The funeral occurred Tuesday afternoon.”
