Alfred Marcus Edgerton, son of Marcus C. and Mary E. (Hayes) Edgerton.
Rose Amelia Hakes, daughter of Henry and Mary Alice (Harris) Hakes.
Children:
Alfred M. Edgerton died at Bristol, Connecticut on
April 17, 1891. According to the
record of his death (Bristol Vital Records, Vol. 5, pg. 418), he was a
“farmer, married, aged 23 years, born in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts, son of
Marcus C. and Mary Edgerton”. His
residence was listed as “Forestville, Connecticut”, and the cause of death
was given as “cirrhosis of liver”. At the time of the 1900
Federal Census, Mrs. Rose A. Edgerton (then widowed) and her son, Leon, were
residing in Granby, Hartford County, Connecticut in the household of Erwin R.
Beamon (dwelling #231; family #244; enum. June 20-21, 1900). They were enumerated as follows:
Rose’s occupation was listed as “housekeeper”, and
Leon was noted as “at school”. Alfred’s widow, Rose Amelia (Hakes) Edgerton, was
later remarried to Mike Kearney and lived to the age of one hundred and two
years. She died at Athol,
