B. Reuben Warner (2/26/1805-12/25/1882) b. Waterbury, New Haven Co., CT, d. Geneva, Ashtabula Co., OH, m. twice, 1st – 1828, Watertown, Litchfield Co., CT, Ann Maria Baldwin, b. 9/4/1806, Harpersfield, Delaware Co., NY, dau. of Truman & Nancy (Brett) Baldwin, 3 ch., 2nd – unknown. In 1828/9 he came from Waterbury, CT, settling on the banks of Lake Erie, next to & adjoining the land of Dea. Truman Baldwin. They took up a large acreage of land, which was the 2nd tract of the Battel Track, in the CT Western Reserve, the Fitch Tract being the first. They brought their belongings by ox-cart, including the set of English Mulberry china given to them as a wedding present, some of that china was in the home of Howard Tye Warner in 1980’s. They built & lived in a log cabin. In 1830 they sold 5 acres of lakefront to Cullen & Lewis Spencer, the brothers of the famous teacher of penmanship, Platt R. Spencer. Reuben got a few men together to serve as a school board & in 1833 they constructed a wooden schoolhouse on the land now known as Geneva Twp. Park. In 1893 the wood building was sold & replaced with the brick building which still stands at the park. On the farm he lived for more than 30 yrs., prospered by industry, frugality and a measure of integrity above reproach. Was one of the twp. trustees at different times & for many yrs, as twp. assessor and an officer in other capacities. Left a widow and 3 ch. of his 1st wife at his d.

3. Nelson Warner, m. Laura Sullivan. They lived in a log cabin for the early yrs., followed by a 4-rm. frame farmhouse in which Charles was born. Howard T. Warner had an oil painting of that home on a school slate. Active in est. the old Meth. Church at North Center (the bell of which stands on the lawn of the 1st Meth. of the city of Geneva.) In 1887 they opened their farmhouse to the 1st summer boarders at Geneva-on-the-Lake, brought by horse & surrey from Geneva’s railway station. At their d. the acreage was split up among the ch. (one dau. m. Milo A. Austin)

d. Charles Warner, a farm boy who, walking to Geneva, made it through the old Geneva Normal School, m. 1902, Myrtle Butler, dau. of Samuel & Martha (Tye) Butler, who came from England. Charlie remained on the old Warner acreage, taking care of his parents until their death. From 1907-1910 they built their own large home from lumber cut on the Warner acreage. They then began their summer boarding business, which became the Hotel Colonial. Charles was instrumental in bringing electricity, city water, and sewer, as well as a golf course, the center of which is on the land given from the Warner farm to Geneva-on-the-Lake. He pushed for incorporation of the village & in 1928 became the 1st mayor (1927-1930). For many yrs. he was pres. of the school board, & helped design & built well-known the Spencer School building. With Milo A. Austin (Austin Rd.) helped bring about the Geneva Twp. Park, located in Geneva-on-the-Lake.
1) Howard Tye Warner, grad. of Case-Western  Reserve, spent most of life in Geneva-on-the-Lake, growing up with the hotel business, began law practice 10/1930. 15 yrs as 1st judge of the Co. Court of Ashtabula Co., helped the OH leg. create these courts to eliminate the old “J.P.” system. Member of the board for Geneva Twp. Park for 45 yrs. m. 1944, Katharine Horner, dau. of Franklin & Emma (Metzger) Horner, who had come to Lakewood, OH from Johnstown, PA. Katarine was a well-known executive nurse. Still had summer place on the original lake front property. Mayor of Geneva-on-the-Lake 1930-1932 & 1934-1936.

Milo worked for PA railroad & took care of property with cottages in  Geneva-on-the-Lake. bur. Graceland Cem., New Castle, PA (See Wright Family Outline)
1) Richard Wright Warner (12/1/1917-1962) m. 1/15/1938, Emily Ruth Curtiss (9/24/1917-1986) dau. of Halden & Mary E. (Nesbitt) Curtiss of North Kingsville, OH. They met at Westminster College. For many yrs. owned & ran cottages, grocery store, & restaurant in Geneva-on-the-Lake. He d. of cerebral hemorrhage, she d. of  leukemia, both bur. North Kingsville Cem., Kingsville, OH (See photo below)
