HONEY CREEK

HONEY CREEK
begins  southeast of Carlton and extends northeast to the North Bosque River near the site of Old Hico. US 281 crosses Honey Creek six miles south of Hico. Early settlements in northern Hamilton County were on the banks of Honey Creek.

"Honey Creek heads southeast of Carlton. Highway 66 (US 281) crosses it six miles south of Hico. The Fairy and Hico road crosses it at Old Hico where there is a deep hole of water known as Blue Hole. Crockett Hendrix and his daughter were drowned there in 1904 when they drove into the creek to water their horses. It empties into the Bosque River between Hico and Iredell."--Doris LaRue Stapleton and Capt. C. E. Horton.
