LOWESCO BRANN 

Lowesco Brann is a member of the legal profession of Hamilton who has proven, throughout his business career, to be an able lawyer of high standards.

Mr. Brann was born in Alexander in Erath County in 1891. His parents, J. M. Brann and Eddie Ridgway Brann came from Western Tennessee. They were born in neighboring counties of Tennessee but did not meet and marry until they moved to Alexander in 1878. They were hard-working, industrious prosperous farmers. They moved to the Pottsville-Shive community when Mr. Brann was a small child.

L. Brann received his elementary education in the Springdale rural schools. He then attended Huntsville Normal school for one year and the Norman [sic-normal] School at Denton for two years. He then taught in the schools at Shive and Liberty for two years. In 1914 he entered the University of Texas where he studied for three years. He served as County Attorney for two terms, from 1918-1922, after being admitted to the Texas bar in 1918.

He has been Secretary and Treasurer of the Hamilton National Farm Loan Association since 1919. This association is one of the largest association in the state.

In 1926 he married Muriel Moore of St. Paul, Minnesota. She was born in New York but moved with her parents to Minnesota at an early age. Muriel Moore attended the public schools of St. Paul and then graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Home Economics in 1923. She then became a Red Cross Nutritionist. She was sent to Cisco, Greenville, Bonham, and Hamilton. She then went to St. Joseph, Missouri to act as city Nutritionist for the year of 1925.

In September, 1926, Lowesco Brann was married to Muriel Moore in St. Paul in a very elaborate and impressive ceremony. They came straight to Hamilton to establish their home. They have three children, Albert, 7; Betty, 5; and baby James Marion.

Mrs. Brann, since her marriage, has been Nutritionist in Hamilton. During the winter of 1933 she was chairman of the Red Cross relief work. She now assists her husband in he law office. They are an energetic and ambitious couple. He is a member of the State Bar Association.
