He died on 3 May 1955 in Buffalo, Erie Co., NY. He was buried on 7 May 1955 in Pleasant Valley, Olean, Cattaragus Co., NY. He was employed as a tool and die maker for Olean Tile Co. for 34 years. He was a member of the Peoples Methodist Church. Also surviving him was his wife Helen and two daughters Mrs Eugene Sirianni (Catherine) and Mrs Eldridge Muir (Clarabelle), five grandchildren, his mother Mrs Jennie Seward of Bradford, PA, two sisters, Mrs Nina Sutton, Eldred, PA and Mrs Mildred Paugh, Bradford, PA., 3 brothers Alven of Salamanca, NY, Chester of Bradford and Leland of Olean, NY. Halwig Funeral Home did the services, May 6, 1955. Helen Vivian SPENCER and Earle Forrest SEWARD had the following children:

From the Olean Times Herald, Nov 17, 2003 Geraldine C. "Jerry" Muir of 2593 Mueller Road, Olean, died Saturday, Nov 15, 2003 at home following a long illness. Born July 17, 1924, in Olean, she was the daughter of Earl and Helen V. Spencer Seaward. On Sept. 21, 1945, in Olean, she married Rl Eldridge "Al" Muir, who predeceased her April 2, 1975.
