of Boliver and Miss Clara Ferguson (Furguson) of Glen Hazel, Pa., were united
in marriage at the residence of Rev. J.W. Blowers, on First Street, Tuesday evening,
March 2, 1897. The public will learn of the marriage through The Breeze as no
previous announcement has been made. The young people are both well known in Boliver
and many friends will heartily join in best wishes. They will make their home

and Wertman's cigar factory, Saturday, and is now a journeyman. Source: The Olean
Times Herald, June 18, 1947. Claude Spencer Dies at Home. Claude L. Spencer,
Rock City Road, a resident of Olean for the past twenty-nine years, died at his
home Tuesday afternoon (June 17,1947). Mr. Spencer was a well known musician
and had been connected with orchestras in theaters in Olean, Bradford and Jamestown.
He was a former member of Burleigh's and Clark Brothers bands. Mr. Spencer
was also a cigar maker and a member of the Musicians Union and the Cigar Makers
Union. He was born in Hartland, Mich., November 9, 1876. Surviving are
one daughter, Mrs. Earl Seward, fours sons, Harold Spencer, Leon Spencer, Charles
Spencer and Russell Spencer; six grandchildren and one great grandchild, all
of Olean. The body was taken to the Halwig Funeral Home where funeral services
will be held Thursday afternoon (Jun 19, 1947) at two o'clock. The Rev. Carlyle
T. Boynton, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will
be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. CLAUDE LEWIS SPENCER and Clara Belle FERGUSON
were married on 2 Mar 1897 in Bolivar, Allegany Co., NY. Clara
Belle FERGUSON was born on 28 Aug 1878 in Edenburg, Clarion Co., PA.
She died on 25 Apr 1933 in Olean, Cattaraugus Co., NY. She was buried
on 27 Apr 1933 in Pleasant Valley, Olean, Cattaragus Co., NY. Source:
The Olean Times Herald, April 2, 1933. Mrs C.L. Spencer. Mrs. Clara B. Spencer,
wife of Claude L. Spencer, passed away Tuesday afternoon at five o'clock at the
home of her daughter, Mrs Earl Seward, 107 Jefferson Street, after a short illness.
Mrs. Spencer was born in Edenburg, PA, August 28, 1878, (this is contrary
to her marriage announcement), and had resided here for eighteen years. She
was a member of People's Methodist Episcopal Church. Besides her husband and
daughter, she is survived by four sons, Leon G., Russell C., Charles S. and Harold
K. Spencer, all of Olean; two brothers, F.A. Ferguson, Akron, Ohio, one sister,
Mrs J.H. Russell, Shreveport, LA. Funeral services will be held at the home of
Mrs. Seaward, Thursday afternoon at two o'clock. The Rev. A.J. Baily, pastor
of People's Methodist Episcopal Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant
Valley Cemetery.

He died in 1930 in Olean, Cattaraugus Co., NY. He was buried in
Pleasant Valley, Olean, Cattaragus Co., NY. He died at home and resided
in Olean for 17 years. He was a member of the Local Musicians Union. He played
banjo. Besides his four brothers who attended the funeral, there was also, Grandmother
Emma of Shinglehouse, PA., Clayton and Lynn Ferguson (Fergerson) Akron, OH, Edward
Bittner and Frank Petratta of Bradford, PA, Mrs Edward Schmidt and Mrs May Cook
