Haddock, took a land patent in Dubois Co., IN, on October 1st in 1835 and it was
located at SESW 11/ 1-S 5-W No. 2nd PM. Accession/Serial #: IN0090_.309 BLM
Serial #: IN NO S/N. And also on 11/7/1837 he acquired another patent, which was
for 40 acres in Dubois Co., IN, located at SESE 10/ 1-S 5-W No - 2nd PM in
Dubois Co., IN, and with the accession/serial #: IN2080_.191. BLM Serial #: IN
NO S/N.
It was on February 11, 1840 that John Haddock sold a lot that was number 116 on
the corner of 7th and Main Streets in Jasper, Indiana to Joseph Gramelspacher
and his wife Sophia (Friedman) Gramelspacher. The Gramelspacher family built a
house there in 1849 and had a family. Their children were named Mary, Theresa,
John, Joseph and Alois. Joseph's will named that the house and property go to
his widow and children.

# 59 listed John Haddock, age 61, born in North Carolina, farmer, real estate
value of 1200. Susan Thornton, age 41, born in South Carolina; John Haddock, age
25, farmer born in Indiana; Alexander, age 21, born in Indiana, Greenberry, age
19, born in Indiana; Martha A. Thornton, age 16, born in Tennessee.
