Myron
Thomas (1851-1940) established a photographic
studio in Shamoki, PA in 1878. The studio operated
until around 2000. During its tenure the studio
documented much history of the region, even
providing services to Thomas Edison. Much of the
collection from the studio is now at the Northumberland County Historical
Society. |

Edison, spent time in Shamokin to illuminate the
city with electric lights. While he was there, Myron
Thomas created what Edison referred to as his
favorite portrait. Read more about it here. |
