  Willard H. Wells died Monday night. This simple announcement will bring sadness to hundreds of friends and acquaintances, who have known him and admired his noble qualities since his early childhood, but with this feeling will come the comforting thought that he has been relieved of his long and terrible sufferings, and at last is at rest.
  
  Mr. Wells was born in Sycamore 35 years ago, his father being a farmer. After a youth spent here, he removed to York, Neb., where he was engaged for some two years with his brother, Ambrose, in stock raising. From there he went to Minneapolis and conducted a hay and feed business. Six years ago he married Miss Florence Lindsay, of Minneapolis, formerly of Sycamore. While engaged in business at Minneapolis he received an injury from heavy lifting, which gradually became more troublesome, and three years ago last summer he returned to Sycamore.
  
  For two years Mr. Wells had been confined to his bed unable to sit up, his ailment having developed tuberculosis of the spinal column. He bore his sufferings with the utmost fortitude and patience. His once robust physique slowly wasted away until death came as a relief.
  
  The deceased leaves a widow, two brothers, George and Ambrose, and two sisters, Mrs. F. E. Wyman and Mrs. Marcenas Hall. The funeral will be held at the home this Wednesday at 1 o’clock and the remains will be interred in Elmwood.

  The body of W. W. Wells, who was missed about three months ago, was found yesterday on Spratt’s farm, in Rice Township, about four miles from the city. Coroner Roth was called and an inquest was held, the verdict of the jury being that the deceased came to his death by exposure to the cold. His remains were conveyed to the Poor House grounds for interment. He was about fifty-five years of age, and has left a wife, who was present to-day at the burial.
