Arch Webb Information from Elsie Mae Carnathan, Dec. 2001:

The brick house on the southwest side of the U.S. 78 and Auburn Road intersection - Arch built the brick house in about 1929 or 1930 for $2000, but he couldn't pay it back and so he sold it to Alger Pierce finally.  He had trouble selling it and the 25 acres of land.  He built the Carnathan's house after that.  F.M. Thredkeld actually built it.  It cost less than $500 in about 1930 or 1931 to build.  Joch and Mary Alice lived in both places with them.  Joch died out back in their back yard.  She died there too.  She died in Mary Frances' arms.  Arch was also a mail carrier and a bailiff as well as a farmer.  He worked for a man in Tupelo at one time that owned a bunch of slot machines (Bill Douglas).
