Mrs. A. D. Houston Mrs. Kate Houston, wife of A. D. Houston of the Pinson
Community, died Monday morning at 8 o’clock in General Hospital after an
extended illness. She was 74 years
of age. She was born March 12, 1887 in Chester County near Henderson,
Tennessee, daughter of the late Dr. John F. Hearn and Nannie Hudson Hearn, and
had lived at the present address since 1903. She was a member of the Pinson Methodist Church and of the
Henderson Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was married to Mr. Houston September 3, 1921 and he
survives her. She is also survived by two sons, J. C. Chatman of Jackson,
Mississippi and M/Sgt.. J. R. Chatman with the U. S. Army stationed in Ft. Sam
Houston, Texas, three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Kline of Aliceville, Ala., Mrs. Edna
Roberson of Memphis, and Mrs. Hazel Morris of Rosemead, Calif.; a brother F. A.
Hearn of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Mary Weaver of Pompano Beach, Fla.;
seven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her body will be at Smith Funeral Home until the funeral
hour. Funeral arrangements are incomplete awaiting the arrival of
relatives.
