Willard B. King

Buried Saturday

  Willard Blythe King, 57, died at Jackson General Hospital on July 8, after an illness of several months.

  A son of the late Rufus E. and Maggie Haggard King, he was born in Gibson County and moved to Henderson at an early age.  He graduated from Chester County High School and attended Freed-Hardeman College.  In 1933 he married Ruth Jones of Pinson who survives.  He was an active member of the Pinson Methodist Church, serving as treasurer and member of the official board on many occasions.  He had been employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company in Jackson for the past twenty-nine years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

  In addition to his wife he leaves a daughter, Miss Rebecca King of Pinson;  two brothers, John King of Henderson and Keith King of Baytown, Texas; and a sister Mrs. Elizabeth Callicott of Harrisburg, Illinois.

  Funeral services were held at Pinson Methodist Church Saturday, July 11, with the Rev. L. L. Jones, pastor, officiating.  Burial was in Rogers Cemetery with Casey Funeral Home in charge.

  Active Pallbearers were Dr. Harold Yarbro, Hugh Yarbro, Donald Wilson, Ralph Wilson, James Thomas Jones and Hugh Wilson Yarbro.

  Honorary pallbearers were members of his Sunday school class and male employees of Southern Bell.

  Hand dated this 1964.
