About us.....

     My husband David and I were married on August 26, 2000.  We make our home in Bald Knob, Arkansas with our cat,  J.C.  We lost Jazmon, our female cat during the summer of 2005. She was 15 years old. J.C. has grown from a tiny bottle-fed kitten I could hold in my hand, to a huge male specimen.   He remains attached to David, and follows him around like a puppy dog and jumps into his lap if David sits down.   Anything to be close to David.  We even think he speaks to us sometimes.  Don't tell anyone but I think David has become a 'cat person.' 

     David is retired from the position of senior operator for Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation (Duke Energy) where he was employed over thirty years.  He loves to cook and prepares wonderful meals for his wife.  He also manages to keep busy with home improvement jobs which I am delighted to provide for him.  

     I recently quit working for J. Collison Co., Inc., an independent farm supply dealer, as secretary, bookkeeper, computer operator, etc., etc. etc., where I was employed since 1975.  My main interest is genealogy and I am a self-appointed family historian as you can tell by this website.  I still get excited when I make a new discovery or come across old family documents.  My cousins all think I am nuts and maybe they are right.  My collection has grown so much I am running out of storage.  Luckily I am married to a carpenter.

     Together David and I enjoy home improvement and gardening projects.  Our favorite quiet pastime is sitting beside a river bank, creek, or the garden pond and fountain by our patio; anywhere we can enjoy the sound of water.  We love to go fishing and bring home the catch to fry up immediately.  With my retirement we hoped to be able to fish a lot more and enjoy the many lakes and rivers of Arkansas but that has not happened as of yet.

David has been re-developing an interest in hunting, and I tag along with him.  I am finally learning to be quieter, although not one of my best traits.  I did manage to kill my first deer in 2005, a button buck weighing in at only 56 pounds, but it still qualifies as a deer!  For 2006 I managed a 92 pound doe.  Very tasty I might add.

    My son, David, received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Music Theory from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa in July 2007. His dissertation, entitled Functions of Dialogue Underscoring in American Feature Film, provides the first thorough examination of the role music performs when accompanying dialogue in sound film. The dissertation will be available from University Microfilms, Inc. sometime in 2008.  He currently teaches music theory and aural skills in the Conservatory of Music at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin.  His wife, Emily,  holds a Doctorate in Musical Art from the University of Iowa in December 2002. She is an instructor in applied oboe at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.   Diva, their cat, insists on remaining their center of attention. 

     Husband David has two sons, John and Gary.  John, a nurse anesthetist, and his wife, Jenny, son Grant, and daughters Lauren and Addi, live in Conway, Arkansas.  Grant enjoys football and basketball.  Lauren is currently studying dance and is the 'hit of the show' (well to us anyhow).  Addi is interested in reading books and spinning in circles.  Gary received his Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems Data/Telecommunications from Arkansas State University in the spring of 2002.  He is currently employed by Budgetext in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

On August 26, 2000 my husband, David, and I were married on top of West Mountain overlooking the City of Hot Springs, Arkansas.  The Blessing below was included in our vows.
