This was Mary's second Marriage, her first being to James Philips in 1849. Issue: James 1850, Elijah 1852 and John Ross 1854.
Mary was married a third time, 27 Mar 1864 to Ira WILSON (1810-1880). Iissue: Ira 1865, Merrill B. 1867 and Sarah Ann 1873.

Five different service records are found for a John Culpepper serving in the Virginia Militia. Some of these are probably the same person, but it is not known which:
4th Regiment (Beatty's)
7th Regiment (Magnien's)
95th Regiment (Lee's)
