Obituary*21 December 2003 BLACKSHEAR. Mrs. Pauline Rachel Carter Howell, 87, passed away early Friday morning (Dec. 19, 2003) at the Pierce County Nursing Home.
     A native of Ware County, she had lived in Pierce County all of her adult life.
     She was a homemaker and was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church.
     She was a daughter of the late William Bryant and Georgia Smith Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Vernie Howell, who passed away in 1990, by a son, Dorrell Howell, a grandson, Dorrell Culpepper and by three sisters and two brothers.
     Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and David Culpepper, of Blackshear, and Joyce and Ronnie Allen, of Valrico, Fla; three sons, Charles W. and Jeanette Howell and Ray and Rhonda Howell, all of Blackshear, and Gary Don Howell, of Lillburn; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles R. and Joan Carter, of Severna Park, Md., and Stafford T. and Lois Howell Carter, of Puyallup, Wash; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
     Funeral will be Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery.
     Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 til 9 at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home.

A funeral for Pauline Carter Howell, 87, was held Monday, Dec. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Johns Methodist Church. Officiating were the Rev. Carl Barnhardt and the Rev. Tom Edwards. Burial was in the St. Johns Cemetery. Active pallbearers were her grandsons which included Joe Howell, Toby Howell, Stacey Howell, Ben Howell, Richard Howell and Scott Howell. Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.3 
Burial*22 December 2003 Her body was interred on 22 December 2003 at St. Johns Methodist Church Cemetery, Pierce Co., Georgia.2
