Obituary*10 November 2010 Lessie Mae TERRELL of Kalamazoo. Surrounded by her loving family, on November 7, 2010, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lessie was born October 10, 1940 in Charleston, MO to James Culpepper and Laurentine (Walker) Culpepper.
     Lessie spent most of her teen years in St. Louis, MO. She later moved to Kalamazoo, MI, where she later met and married her husband of 44 years. Lessie loved to read, cook, loved music and work with hospitality in her church. Lessie retired from Bronson Hospital and Battle Creek Hospital where she worked as a Registered Nurse.
     She is survived by her husband, Robert Terrell Sr; her six children, Darlene (Bobby) Daniels of Houston, TX, Terylle Lavender, Paulette (Michael) Hunter, Tracey Culpepper, all of Kalamazoo, MI, Robin Richardson of Dallas, TX., Robert Terrell Jr. of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; a step-son Calvin (Brenda) Jones of Henderson, TN; special nieces, Beverly (Eddie) Boyd, Natalie Lewis and Eleanor Lewis; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
     Lessie is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and sister.
     A Home going Celebration will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 12:00 noon with an 11:00 AM family hour from the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Lavender officiating. Interment to follow in Genesee Prairie Cemetery, Oshtemo.
     Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bible Baptist Church or the Southwest Michigan Hospice program. Arrangements under the direction of WHITLEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 330 N. Burial*12 November 2010 Her body was interred on 12 November 2010 at Genesee Prairie Cemetery, Oshtemo, Kalamazoo Co., Michigan.2

Obituary*3 July 2015 Terrell, Robert E, Sr. 11/9/1945 - 6/28/2015 Robert E. Terrell, 69, of Jackson, TN, passed away Sunday June 28, 2015 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Born in Henderson, TN to Ralph Terrell and Maggie Kirkland (Starling). Graduated from Centerfield High School in Henderson. As a young man he marched with the Civil Rights Movement in the early 60s as a great advocate of Civil Rights and later would attend Lane College on basketball scholarship. Upon graduating he moved to Kalamazoo, MI where he met and married his wife of 46 years, Lessie M Terrell (Culpepper). He accepted Christ as his savior and followed the Lord in believers baptism August 3, 1980 at Bible Baptist Church, Kalamazoo, MI. Next to his Faith and his Family was his love of sports, the foremost being golf. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and grandfather Tom and Luella Hunter, his parents, and his sister Carlene E. Lewis. He is survived by his children Darlene (Bobby) Daniels of Spring, TX; Calvin (Brenda) Jones of Henderson, TN; Terylle Lavender, Paulette (Michael) Hunter, Tracey Culpepper all of Kalamazoo, MI; Robin Terrell Richardson of Lancaster, TX and Robert Terrell Jr of Kalamazoo, MI. He is also survived by his three nieces whom he had legal guardianship over, Beverly (Eddie) Boyd of Kalamazoo; Natalie Lewis and Eleanor Lewis both of Chicago, Il, 17 grand children, 22 great grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.      She was born October 2, 1925, in Mendon, Michigan to Ray Vinton and Myrtle Bell (Culp) Hill. She was married to Clarence D. "Doug" Culpepper on September 1, 1945, in Parma, Michigan. She has lived in Parma since she was eight years old. She worked at the Burr Oak Golf Course, and at the Former Golden Mallard. She was a founding member of the Bid & Play Pinochle Club in 1945 and was still a member today. She liked to watch CBS Soaps, shopping, reading, TV. She loved her family dearly and had many wonderful friends.
     She is survived by her husband, Doug, who she was married to for 64 years. She is also survived by two daughters, Linda Swartz of Jackson and Ruth Tillar of Parma; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Dave) Phillips of Horton, Doug (Becky Smith) DeForest of Nokesville, VA; five great-grandchildren, Baylee, Blake, Chelsea, and Chloe DeForest, and Josh Phillips; two sisters, Harriot Dean of Niles, MI, and Sally Crabill of Coldwater, MI; two brothers, Fred (Lois) Hill of Vandercook and Lyle( Ella) Hill of Battle Creek.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Earl, Dale, and Robert Hill.
     According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Private Memorial Service will be held at a later time. The family is being served by the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 208 West Erie Street, Albion, MI 49224.
