Sarah Akin's parents were John Akin and Elizabeth "Betsy" McKinney. They were married Oct. 19, 1809 in Lincoln County Kentucky. He was b.1784 and d. 1865. She was b.1790 and d. 1862.
James Lee Low, one of William Jackson's boys, remembered his grandfather coming to Texas to see them when he was a young boy. Jacob and Sarah came to Texas in a wagon and after visiting William Jackson's family, they went to other relatives houses, they probably spent a year or more in Texas visiting. When they started back to Tennessee, they went back by William Jackson's and left a dog with one of his boys. The dog ran off, and they never found it. several months later they received a letter from Jacob that said the dog had come home.
