Nancy H. (Hicks) Oldham received a land grant in the Milam District of Texas after 1837, but before 1839.

Nancy H, (Hicks) Oldham McEwen and her young son William Jasper (Buck) McEwen were granted a class 3 land grant of 640 acres, the conditional certificate was issued 23 December 1839 in Washington County.

NOTE: Nancy's father, Moses Oldham also received land in Texas. His grant indicates he arrived in Texas 5 December 1839, received a class 3 grant of 640 acres in washington County.

NOTE: Pleasant Earl Thorp, who Nancy H. McEwen would next marry, arrived in Texas 7 November 1839. He received a class 3 land grant of 320 acres in Milam County. His conditional certificate was issued 11 January 1840.

Nancy married John M. McEWEN, son of James McEWEN and Agnes KIRK, on 15 Feb 1838 in Madison Co., TN. (John M. McEWEN was born in 1815 in Tennessee and died in 1839 in Tennessee.)

Nancy also married Pleasant Earl THORP on 8 Sep 1842 in Burleson Co., TX (Milam Land Dist., Lower Brazos Valley). (Pleasant Earl THORP was born on 12 Aug 1809 in VA, died on 11 Sep 1890 in Thorp Spring, Hood Co., TX and was buried in Col. - Rode With Morehouse Expedition.)
