820. Baulstone BRAYTON (107) was born on 11 May 1717 in Swansea,Bristol,MA. He died on 5 Apr 1777 in Smithfield,,RI. During 1744, Baulstone Brayton was admitted as a Freeman at Smithfield, R.I. In 1760, he was selected as one of six directors of a lottery for the Providence Library. He served as Sheriff of Providence County for many years.

Baulstone Brayton was appointed Co-Executor of the 7 Dec 1759 will of his father, Preserved Brayton. As a beneficiary of the will, he inherited a farm, at Smithfield, R.I.

821. Margaret LEE(108). Children were:

child i. Patience BRAYTON(109) (110) was born on 1 May 1740 in Swansea,Bristol,MA. On 14 Feb 1754, Patience Brayton was married to Oliver Read, at Swansea, Mass. Oliver Read (Oliver 4, John 3, John 2, John 1), the second child and the second son of Oliver and Martha (Durfee) Read, was born 21 Aug 1734, at Freetown, MA. He died after 29 Sep 1814, the date of his will. On 16 Jul 1759, Oliver Read was married to Hannah Collins. Oliver Read was a Captain in the Revolutionary War.
child ii. Isaac BRAYTON(111) (112) was born on 4 Nov 1742 in Smithfield,,RI. He died on 23 Jun 1809 in Deerfield,Oneida,NY. He was buried in Old Whitney Cemetery,Deerfield,,NY. Isaac Brayton migrated from Cumberland, R.I., with the first of his family, and settled in what is now Oneida County, N.Y., where he, and his family, were listed among the earliest settlers of that area.

On 2 Apr 1793, at a meeting held in the house of Captain George S. Weber, Isaac Brayton was elected Supervisor of the Town of Schuyler, N.Y. and also appointed Sealer of Weights and Measures. He continued in the office of Supervisor until the end of 1796.

On 24 Oct 1792, Isaac Brayton was one of the signers of a petition to the State Legislature requesting the construction of a bridge across the Mohawk River, at Old Fort Schuyler. At the time the bridge was completed, it was the only one west of Schenectady, N.Y., which crossed the Mohawk River.

The will of Isaac Brayton, dated 15 Dec 1808, was filed at the Surrogate's Office, Oneida Couny, N.Y., on 27 Oct 1809.

child iv. William BRAYTON(113) (114) was born on 30 Apr 1754 in Smithfield,,RI. A newspaper listing for Lansingburgh, Rensselaer County, N.Y., dated 1787, shows a mercantile business for W. & S. Brayton. The Northern Centinel and Lansingburgh Advertiser dated 22 Oct 1787 contained the following: "Wanted by W. & S. Brayton, A number of good beef CATTLE, for which they will pay in Weft-India, or Dry Goods, or take for debts due to them, if brought within ten days from this date. The highest price will be allowed".
