Bethany Orphans Home
Lookups offered for Bethany Orphans Home by Vern Paul
I have an original copy of:
"A HISTORY OF BETHANY ORPHANS' HOME OF THE REFORMED CHURCH OF THE UNITED STATES,
LOCATED AT WOMELSDORF, PA"., by Rev. Thomas M. Yundt, Reading, PA.;
Daniel Miller, Publisher, 1888, 136 pp.
At the back of the book is a list of about 400 orphans who were residents up to 1888. No personal
data is entered. However, four children who died in the home during its early years are named;
those deceased later, presumably after leaving the home, are indicated by asterisks.
There are also a number of memorials to various individuals administrating the orphanage.
THERE ARE ILLUSTRATIONS OF:
Rev. Emanuel Boehringer
Rev. John Gantenbein
Rev. D. Y. Heisler
Rev. D. B. Albright
