The earliest Knapp ancestor that we can prove is Israel Knapp who lived in the 18th century. His wife's name is not known for certain, nor are many facts about his life. Indeed, it is quite uncertain if he even existed. It is with his son Israel and his wife Mary Hennion that our Knapp Genealogy really begins.
