    Mary Lucille Scroggins born April 3, 1930 passed away peacefully at home March 21, 2009 surrounded by her daughters Cheryl Campbell, Loretta Crossley and family.

    Lucille was born and raised in Baker, Florida. She is also survived by her sisters Clara Moore, Florene Howze and Eloise Hoffman, 1 surviving brother; Archie Henry, 3 Grandchildren; Chauncey Crossley , Brad Rodewald, Tami Moreau and 4 Great Grandchildren, in addition to lots of extended family. Her partner in life for 28 years and life time friend Shelley Scroggins.

    Lucy, as she was affectionately called by co-workers and the many friends she made at Jimmy's Pawn Shop for over 33 years were her second family.

    The family would like to thank all the wonderful Doctors and Nurses at Emerald Coast Oncology and Covenant Hospice who helped make her journey easier.

    Burton F. Scroggins

    Burton F. Scroggins, "Burt" or "Heavy" to his friends, age 67, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away in a local hospital Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001.

    He was born on July 2, 1934, in Baker, Fla. He loved and lived in the local area his whole life and enjoyed the woods and fishing. He was a simple man who enjoyed life and doing for others. He was a veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Navy. He loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed by his family and friends also.

    He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Martha Scroggins; and his stepfather, Noah Adams.

    Survivors include his loving daughters, Dianna and husband Steven Greene of Fort Walton Beach, Renee and husband Doug Mosley of Mary Esther, Fla., and Janet Holbrook of Fort Walton Beach. Brothers, Shelley and wife Jeanette Scroggins of Wewahitchica, Fla., and Charles Scroggins of Fort Walton Beach; sisters, Alta and husband Dave Townsend of Fort Walton Beach, and Glenda Fortune of Fort Walton Beach; grandchildren, Kelly Arnold, Jaymi Greene, Kelsi Greene, Dennis Seelhorst II, Ashlea Seelhorst, Rodney King Jr. and Brandon Holbrook; great- grandchildren, Brittany Arnold and Elizabeth Lindsley; several nieces and nephews and friends; and very special friends, Maria Paul and Melissa Paul.

    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Little Chapel Funeral Home.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, with visitation one hour prior. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Jack Webster and Brother Jerry Nelson. Burial will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery.

    Floral tributes are acceptable, or those who wish may make a memorial contribution to the family to help with funeral expenses.
