   Marie Edwards
   
   Marie D. Edwards, 57, of Madison, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at her residence.
   
   She was born Nov. 1, 1951, in Madison, the daughter of James W. and Ruby Jean Jones Edwards. She was a 1969 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. She was an advanced medical technician for the King's Daughters' Hospital, a medic for the former Jefferson County Proving Ground and a licensed practical nurse for The Waters of Rising Sun for 18 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Hanover Chapter 525. She enjoyed painting, folk art and reading.
   
   She is survived by two daughters, Jeri Reneé Scroggins Roeseler of Madison and Christina Scroggins Shipley of Moundsville, W.Va.; three sisters, Pam Edwards of Madison, Mary Lynn Childress of Seymour and Lisa Baker of Cloverdale; one brother, James W. Edwards Jr. of Madison; her husband, Kenneth J. Ruth of Greendale; and three grandchildren.
   
   She was preceded in death by her father, who died Nov. 29, 1998; and her mother, who died May 15, 2008.
   
   The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Lytle Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Ky.
   
   Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until the service.
