Katherine "Mama" Martin (1918 - 2011)
Katherine "Mama" Martin, 92, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Katherine, born Aug. 4, 1918, in Marlin to Jesse T. Scroggins and Mary Stacks Scroggins, was known as "Mama" to her family. She retired from Volkswagen of America in 1983. She was a very loving, kind and generous woman. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Mama was one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Martin, in 2009.
Survivors: Daughter, Sandra Bailey and husband, Bobby; son, Ronnie and partner, Janet Keller; daughter, Sherry Rushing and husband, Gary; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
