Mary J. Sipe was born circa 1859. She was the daughter of
Francis "Frank" Sipe and
Elisabeth Dellinger. Mary J. Sipe married
Eli Shindle. Mary J. Sipe died on 15 April 1938 at
Roundtown, York Co., Pennsylvania. She was New Tag Obituary from a 17 April 1938 York Co., Pennsylvania newspaper:

NEAR ROUNDTOWN
Roundtown, April 17 - Mrs. Mary J. Shindle, widow of Eli Shindle, died at 10:55 o'clock Friday night at her home, near here, from the effects of a stroke after a three month illness. She was 79 years old. The deceased was a daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth Dellinger Sipe and was born in Conewago township. She was a member of Quickel's Lutheran congregration. The only immediate survivors are a son, Frederick A. Shindle, of North York, a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Strayer, at home; a sister, Mrs. Eli Wintermeyer, near here, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from the house with concluding services at Quickels church, by the pastor, Rev. J.C. McCarney. Interment will be in the cemetery adjoining the church. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Funeral Dirrectors, A.H. Diehl and Sons, Mt. Wolf."
