Dorothy M. Squires, 86, formerly of N. Hopkins St., Sayre, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005 at the Carpenter Personal Care Center in Tunkhannock, Pa. She was born Jan. 29, 1919 in South Waverly, the daughter of the late Albert and Helen Eddy Patton, and wife of the late Ronald D. Squires.
Dorothy is survived by: a son, Ernest Presher of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Yvonne Cooper of Mehoopany, Pa.; four grandchildren, Jane and David Lunger, Mary and John Lynch, James Cooper, and Thomas and Beth Cooper; great-grandchild, Madylin Cooper; step-daughter, Barbara and Edward Manginelli of Big Flats; step-son, Dennis and Linda Squires of Waverly; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dorothy was predeceased by: her parents and husband; her former husband, Ernest Leon Presher; a sister, Ada Ryan; two brothers, Robert and Frank Presher; a son-in-law, Harry Cooper; and step-son, Gary Squires.
Funeral and committal services will be held Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Luckner Funeral Home, 449 Park Ave., Waverly. Rev. James Fox will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in the spring at Chemung Cemetery. Those wishing may direct contributions in Dorothy's memory to the charity of their choice.
